Terms of Use

Initial considerations

Snapse is an educational app created to bring together people with the same study interests and to help teachers find students for their classes. To provide a good service to our users, we need to establish some limits on the use of our application.

Usage limits

There are three categories of usage limits:

Limits related to backend infrastructure

In order to make the application economically viable and to guarantee the stability of service provision, we can establish daily limits on profile updates, class creation and updates, scheduling exams, sending messages, among other user interactions with the app. These limits are variable and aim to curb abuse.

Limits related to misuse

In order to ensure a healthy environment for user interaction, we can:

  • Suspend or cancel a user's account due to abusive behavior.
  • Prevent a user from sending messages to other users.
  • Remove groups that offend other users.

Public groups, that is, groups that can be found in textual and map search engines, may be excluded from these engines if they contain bad words or images of sexual or violent content.

Limits related to legal obligations or judicial determinations

We can remove groups and cancel user accounts in respect of judicial decisions and to comply with the law of the country of origin of the respective users.

Public groups

Marking a group as "public" is necessary for it to be found on search engines. However, this is not enough for it to appear in the search results. The groups are ranked according to the feedback from their students (we consider the grades given and the number of feedbacks sent). Only the highest rated groups (with the largest number evaluations) are visible.

Groups that have been inactive for a long time, that is, that are not being updated by their teachers, will also be excluded from search engines.
